The Louvre Museum approached Hélène Fournié through Mrs. Françoise Gaultier, Chief Curator of the Department of Greek & Roman Antiquities, for archaeological drawing work. Specifically, the task involved conducting surveys and digitizing them (using Illustrator) - profiles of Etruscan vases.
In the archaeological field, Hélène also completed two one-month residencies at the excavation site of Malia in Crete, this time under the guidance of Pascal Darcque & Aleydis Van de Moortel - French School of Athens. She conducted pencil sketches / Illustrator work, including sketches of vases, cups, and other furnishings (ceramology), surveys of decorative motifs, and artistic reconstruction and interpretation.
